INTERNATIONAL DRIVING PERMIT (IDP) is issued on the basis of the International Convention on Road Traffic dated November 8, 1968, and in accordance with the Law on powers of the AMS of the RS (Official Gazette of the RS, No. 01/2009), the Rulebook on Conditions for the Performance of Public Works authorizations and authorizations (No. 01-2-231/10 of 18.05.2010) and the Rulebook on International Driving Permits (Official Gazette of BiH, No. 13/07, 42/11).

IDP is printed on Serbian, French, English, Spanish, Russian and German languages.

IDP is issued at the request of a driver with a residence in BiH, and based on a valid driver's license issued by the competent institution of BiH for a period of 2 YEARS from the date of issue, if the validity period of the national driver's license is not shorter than 2 years. If that term is shorter, the IDP is valid until the expiration of the national driver's license.

IDP can not be issued to a driver who, by the decision of the competent institution, has been issued with a safety measure or a protective measure for driving a motor vehicle of a certain category, while the ban lasts.

IDP is issued upon personal request and in the presence of the user.

The following documentation is attached to the request for issuance of IDP:

• Valid identity (ID) card for inspection,
• A valid national driver's license on the basis of which IDP is required to be issued,
• 2 photos of 35 mm x 45 mm format.
